Kelly Clarkson is on a high note as she celebrates a monumental milestone in her career: 1,000 episodes of her beloved daytime talk show! The "Stronger" singer marked this significant achievement with a heartfelt monologue during Thursday's episode, reflecting on the incredible journey her show has taken since its launch on September 9, 2019.
“With 999 episodes under our belt, I can’t believe we finally made it to episode 1,000!” Clarkson said, expressing her disbelief and gratitude. Over the past six seasons, the show has become a platform for showcasing extraordinary individuals, including talented celebrities and inspiring everyday heroes, fostering a community that has weathered personal and global challenges together.
Clarkson humorously recounted various memorable moments from her show, including navigating the pandemic and moving the entire show across the country from Los Angeles to New York City. She joked about unique episodes where she hosted while wearing an eyepatch and one where she sported a leg cast, revealing her resilient spirit and dedication to entertaining her audience.
However, amid all her accomplishments, Clarkson admitted there's still one thing she hasn't mastered. “I told my producers at the start that while I love magic like a 10-year-old, I can’t cook,” she shared. “And I still can’t cook!” She playfully thanked Postmates for being her culinary crutch.
Reflecting on the show's many segments, Clarkson expressed pride in the Kellyoke performances, which have included covers of popular songs, as well as heartwarming interactions with various guests. She also praised the Rad Humans segment, highlighting the positive impacts of the people she has gotten to know through the show.
“For 1,000 episodes, we’ve laughed, cried, and celebrated together,” she said. “I might have lost a lot of games, but that’s okay! What we’ve created here is truly special.” Clarkson acknowledged her amazing crew and her house band, Y'all, emphasizing the connections they’ve built over the years.
In conclusion, she shared a special pre-taped performance to celebrate the day—a cover of Whitney Houston's iconic ballad “I Have Nothing,” which aired as a tribute to the significant occasion. “We wanted to go big and bold for our 1,000th show,” she remarked. “Whitney is one of the greatest vocalists of all time, and it’s an honor to pay homage to her work.”
As Clarkson’s talk show continues to thrive, fans can expect even more unforgettable moments in the episodes to come, proving that even amidst a successful career, she is just like us—still learning and laughing along the way!
