Get ready for an unpredictable twist in this year’s NASCAR All-Star Race! On May 18 at the legendary North Wilkesboro Speedway, NASCAR is introducing a unique competition caution that will keep drivers and teams on their toes throughout the thrilling 250-lap event.

While NASCAR hasn’t revealed exactly when—or if—they’ll deploy this caution between Laps 101 and 220, the uncertainty promises to add an electrifying element to the race. This innovative rule aims to challenge crew chiefs and drivers, as they will have to strategize without clear guidance!

Midway through the race, a scheduled break at Lap 100 will allow teams to make crucial adjustments. But will they be able to anticipate when the competition caution—referred to as the "promoter’s caution"—will strike? If executed, this caution will allow NASCAR or track owner Speedway Motorsports to consolidate the field, giving teams a chance to pit for fresh tires.

But hold on! If there’s a natural caution after Lap 200 and the promoter’s caution hasn’t been used yet, it won’t be implemented.
