In a significant development for the construction industry, NFT Hong Kong has been appointed the official dealer for Potain cranes, marking a bold expansion within the region’s competitive landscape. This partnership is part of the broader NFT Group Asia, which also encompasses NFT Taiwan and a diverse range of subsidiary companies across the continent.
Jean-Francois Amet, sales director at Manitowoc, emphasized the importance of strong representation in Hong Kong's lively market. “Hong Kong is a vibrant yet highly competitive environment, and it’s crucial for Potain to establish a solid foothold here to maintain its industry-leading position,” he stated.
The excitement around this partnership is palpable, with Amet adding, “We are thrilled to collaborate with our trusted partners at NFT, who will provide sales, rental, and customer service to clients across Hong Kong. The market reaction has already been overwhelmingly positive, and we are confident that both Potain and NFT will reap significant rewards from this union.”
Crane Fleet Highlights
NFT Hong Kong has kicked off its operations with an impressive rental fleet comprising 40 Potain tower cranes, supplemented by sales options available for contractors and rental entities. The fleet features models such as the MR 418, MR 608, and MR 618, all popular choices from Potain’s European offerings, alongside the MCR 625 from the Asia range.
Moreover, high-capacity flat-top cranes manufactured at Potain's Zhangjiagang factory in China are on the rise in popularity, particularly as pre-cast construction methods flourish amidst decreasing land availability. These cranes not only deliver exceptional lifting performance but also offer the advantage of easy assembly. Their capacity to overlap on job sites positions them as ideal tools for contemporary construction projects, with local Hong Kong companies increasingly inquiring about models from the MCT 385 to the MCT 1105.
Nabil Al Zahlawi, CEO and managing partner of NFT, expressed enthusiasm for the new venture, stating, "NFT has been a supportive partner for various companies in Hong Kong for many years. We possess a deep understanding of this market, backed by a highly experienced local leadership team. With the opening of our large facility, we are poised to significantly enhance our support for our activities here."
Zahlawi also referred to the recent gala opening event, where the Manitowoc leadership team was present, celebrating the partnership alongside esteemed customers from prominent construction firms in Hong Kong. "We are looking forward to a promising future for Potain and NFT in Hong Kong," he added.
What This Means for the Market
This dealership agreement not only strengthens Potain's position in the Hong Kong market but also enhances the region's construction capabilities. With a growing demand for modern, efficient construction solutions, NFT Hong Kong's commitment to delivering cutting-edge crane technology will likely motivate other players in the industry to raise their standards as well.
Stay tuned to witness how this strategic partnership will reshape the skyline of Hong Kong and drive innovation within the construction sector!
