Pete Davidson's Dramatic Transformation
In a jaw-dropping revelation this February, comedian Pete Davidson showcased his tattoo-free arms and midriff in a Reformation campaign, leaving fans astonished. But this bold physical transformation is just the beginning of a major overhaul for the ‘Saturday Night Live’ star.
A Long Road Ahead: Davidson’s Tattoo Removal Journey
In a candid interview with Variety, Davidson opened up about his decision to gradually erase the more than 200 tattoos that once adorned his body. "I started during COVID in 2020, and it’s going to take me another 10 years to finish this journey. My arms and parts of my hands and neck are nearly done, but my torso and back are still left to tackle," he shared.
A Painful Process with a Heavy Price Tag
Describing the tattoo removal experience, Davidson didn’t sugarcoat the reality: "It feels like putting your arm on a grill and burning off a layer." And the financial cost is equally staggering. "I've already shelled out around $200,000, and I’m only about 30% through the process. It’s not cheap!" he admitted with a laugh.
A New Beginning: Signifying Sobriety and Healing
Despite his affinity for body art, Davidson views this removal as a vital step in redefining his life post-addiction. "I used to be a drug addict and felt sad and ugly, like I needed to be covered up. Removing these tattoos is my way of hitting the reset button for my mental well-being," he explained.
The Tattoos That Will Stay: Davidson's Selective Approach
Though the majority of his ink is on the chopping block, there are a few tattoos he plans to keep. In a light-hearted moment during a conversation with NBC's 'Today', he quipped, "I might keep two or three tattoos. I’m just trying to be an adult here."
