BEREA, Ohio — When life gives you lemons, make lemonade! This might just be the motto for Quinshon Judkins, the former Ohio State running back who was picked by the Cleveland Browns at No. 36 during the second round of the NFL Draft. But it almost turned into a day to forget when he nearly missed his draft call!

Judkins laughed as he recounted the moment, saying, "I went to go get a drink. I was just getting a cup of lemonade when my mom yelled, ‘Oh, they’re on the phone!’" In a frantic scramble, he rushed back just in time to take the call.

His mother, Teva, became an unexpected star during the draft, as she was captured on the NFL Network broadcast, picking up her son’s phone and sharing a laugh with Browns GM Andrew Berry.

Surrounded by a supportive crew of family, friends, and former coaches in Atlanta, Judkins had to channel his speed—after all, he clocked in at an impressive 4.48 seconds in the 40-yard dash. After dashing back from his lemonade break, he shared his excitement, stating, "I was just so thrilled to be a Brown!"

Last season, Judkins dominated with the Buckeyes, leading the team with 1,060 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns. It’s clear that the Browns are looking to make a significant upgrade to their offense, and Judkins’s addition might just be the key ingredient for their success.

So here's to Quinshon Judkins—mixing up lemonade with NFL dreams and proving that sometimes, a little distraction can lead to great things!
