Apple enthusiasts, brace yourselves! The tech giant's forthcoming third-generation HomePod is generating buzz with exciting new features, including the rumored inclusion of a breathtaking 6- to 7-inch OLED display. This revelation comes from a new report by the Korean news outlet SE Daily, which cites insiders from the industry.

According to these insiders, Apple has partnered with Tianma, a Chinese display manufacturer known for its high-quality screens, to provide the OLED panels for this innovative HomePod, set to make its debut as early as next year. This could be a game-changer for Apple, as it pivots its smart speaker to include a dynamic display, potentially enhancing interactivity and user experience.

The idea of a HomePod with a screen isn't entirely new; discussions have circulated since 2021 about such a device. Notably, Apple has been conceptualizing a range of smart-home products that may integrate display technologies. Renowned analyst Mark Gurman has hinted at various HomePod models featuring screens, including one that mimics the look of an iPad with a built-in camera and another equipped with a display on a robotic arm for added mobility.

However, there are mixed signals regarding the timeline for release. While Gurman previously speculated that these advanced HomePod variants wouldn't hit the market before 2025, Ming-Chi Kuo, another prominent Apple analyst, recently updated his forecast, now suggesting a post-WWDC 2025 launch—potentially in the third quarter. Kuo also emphasizes that Tianma will supply the panels but stops short of confirming they will be OLED.

In a strategic shift, the new HomePod is expected to focus more heavily on smart home capabilities, showcasing Apple's determination to capture a larger share of the home automation market. This aligns with Gurman's earlier reports of Apple developing a comprehensive home management hub characterized by its square display, prominent bezels, and a design reminiscent of the iconic iMac G4.

Initial production estimates for the upcoming HomePod remain conservative, with Kuo providing projections of around 500,000 units slated for release in the latter half of 2025.

Stay tuned for more updates as Apple continues to innovate and reshape the smart home landscape with these thrilling new products!
