Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini Exonerated in Landmark Corruption Case

In a significant turn of events, former FIFA president Sepp Blatter and renowned French football legend Michel Platini have been exonerated from corruption charges by a Swiss court. This decision, handed down by an appeals court in Muttenz, near Basel, clears the two men of wrongdoing related to a controversial payment made in 2011.

The case revolves around a 2 million Swiss francs (£1.6 million) payment that Blatter made to Platini. Despite repeated denials of any illegal activity by both individuals, the allegations sparked a lengthy legal battle following a broader corruption scandal that engulfed FIFA in 2015.
