As the vibrant colors of fall fade, a new holiday cheer is set to take over vacant storefronts across the Northeast. Spirit Halloween, renowned for its whimsical costumes and thrilling decorations, is preparing to unveil its new concept: Spirit Christmas. This transformation is not only a delightful surprise but also a tribute to the joy of the holiday season.

From Mays Landing, New Jersey, to Erie, Pennsylvania, selected locations will morph into enchanting winter wonderlands where customers can experience festive magic. Shoppers can look forward to a treasure trove of holiday goodies including inflatable decor, stocking stuffers, cozy apparel, and an array of thoughtful gifts. What’s more, visitors can immerse themselves in a life-sized gingerbread village, send letters to Santa at the North Pole, and capture magical moments with St. Nick himself.

"We’re excited to introduce Spirit Christmas, a new concept for our brand! We aim to create a festive shopping experience that encapsulates the season's spirit, similar to our Halloween approach," the company expressed in a statement to Fast Company.

Spirit Halloween, which began its journey in 1983 as a humble pop-up in Castro Valley, California, has since blossomed under the ownership of Spencer Gifts. Today, the iconic retailer operates over 1,500 seasonal stores nationwide, making it a staple destination for Halloween enthusiasts.

However, Spirit Christmas will only be available in a select 10 locations this season. New Jersey will see storefronts in Marlton, Brick, Mays Landing, and Woodbridge, while New Yorkers can visit in Albany, Bohemia, or Poughkeepsie. Additional pop-ups will open in Erie, Pennsylvania; Waterford, Connecticut; and Dartmouth, Massachusetts. Notably, the Mays Landing location will kick off early, welcoming festive shoppers on October 18, while the others are set to open in early November.

In a twist of irony, Spirit Halloween recently found itself the punchline of a “Saturday Night Live” skit. To playfully respond, the company shared a meme on social media poking fun at the show's portrayal, featuring a mock costume package labeled “irrelevant 50-year-old TV show,” listing out its humorous “inclusions” such as "dated references" and "shrinking ratings."

With the holiday season just around the corner, Spirit Christmas is primed to embolden spirits and invite shoppers to revel in the splendor of the most wonderful time of the year. So, dust off your sleigh bells and get ready to celebrate—there’s no better way to embrace the festive season than with a visit to Spirit Christmas! Don’t miss out; mark your calendars and prepare for a delightful shopping adventure!
