In a shocking incident that sent chills down the spines of those onboard, a Delta Airlines flight erupted in flames on the tarmac at Orlando International Airport this Monday morning.

The aircraft, which was bound for Atlanta, Georgia, had just departed its gate around 11:15 AM ET when disaster struck—one of the engine's rear sections ignited, according to reports from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Footage circulating on social media reveals chaotic scenes, with billowing smoke and fierce flames belching from the back of the aircraft, as crew members scrambled to assist passengers in their hasty evacuation via emergency slides.

All 282 passengers, along with 10 flight attendants and two pilots, were swiftly evacuated to safety in the terminal building. Remarkably, no injuries have been reported.

Delta Airlines confirmed that their flight crews adhered to emergency protocols to secure the safety of everyone on board when flames were spotted in the tailpipe of one of the engines.

In light of this alarming episode, the airline has stated that maintenance teams will inspect the plane thoroughly to determine the root cause of the fire.

This incident is the latest in a string of emergency evacuations at U.S. airports, raising questions about aviation safety as passengers remain on high alert.
