In a groundbreaking move, the US Department of Energy (DOE) has announced a monumental investment of $1.5 billion for four transformative transmission projects, marking the first-ever connection of the Texas grid to the broader US electricity network. This unprecedented initiative aims to bolster grid reliability and facilitate the transition towards clean energy sources across multiple states.

This ambitious plan will result in the installation of nearly 1,000 miles of new transmission lines, significantly enhancing grid capacity by 7,100 megawatts (MW).
