Bam Margera's Comeback in the Highly Anticipated Remake

In a heartwarming twist, professional skater and Jackass star Bam Margera is set to make his comeback in the highly anticipated remake, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4, thanks to Tony Hawk's determined intervention. Hawk reportedly stepped in to convince Activision to reinstate Margera during the game's development.

The Revival of Beloved Titles

Officially announced earlier this month, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 revives the beloved titles that introduced fans to the world of skateboarding on the PlayStation 2. Margera was a fan-favorite character in both the original THPS 3 and THPS 4, but his inclusion in the remake had initially been cast into doubt amidst concerns over his personal struggles, including legal issues and well-documented battles with substance abuse, which also led to his dismissal from the production of Jackass Forever in 2020.

Tony Hawk Advocates for Margera's Inclusion

Recent reports suggest a positive turning point for Margera, with Tony Hawk personally advocating for his inclusion in the game. During a March 23 livestream of the skating podcast The Nine Club, co-host Roger Bagley revealed that Margera was added to the game's roster at the eleventh hour after Hawk had skated with him earlier that month.

Hawk's Determination

Bagley recounted, “The game was already finished when Tony reached out to Activision. He insisted, ‘We’re putting Bam in the game,’ and they initially hesitated. But he stood firm, saying, ‘No, you’re going to make it happen,’ which ultimately led to Margera being flown out for a body scan to include him in THPS 3+4.”

Positive Reports on Margera's Progress

On March 24, TMZ confirmed these claims, indicating that Hawk was impressed with Margera's progress in his recovery and commitment to sobriety. This newfound determination clearly resonated with Hawk, who underscored that Margera deserved another chance for a spotlight on the legendary skateboard series.

Nostalgia for Fans

Bam Margera has not graced a Tony Hawk game since 2007's Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground, the last title crafted by the original creators Neversoft. His absence from the 2020 remake, THPS 1+2, was felt deeply by fans, particularly after he was removed from a poster in a revamped version of a THPS 2 level.

Anticipation for the Release

The inclusion of Margera brings a sense of nostalgia and excitement as fans eagerly await the return of their skateboarding hero. As the release date for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 approaches, it’s clear that the skateboarding community is united in support of Margera—and thrilled to see his much-anticipated resurgence in the game!
