In a shocking turn of events, Steve Mensch, the esteemed president and general manager of studio operations at Tyler Perry Studios, tragically passed away in a plane crash on Friday night, according to officials.

Tyler Perry Studios released a heartfelt statement mourning his loss, saying, “We are incredibly saddened by the passing of our dear friend, Steve Mensch. For over eight years, Steve was a cherished member of our team and well-loved in the Atlanta community. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that Mensch was found deceased at the crash site shortly after 8 p.m. in Citrus County, Florida. The agency confirmed that the pilot was the only person aboard the single-engine Vans RV12 aircraft, although they did not immediately confirm Mensch’s identity.
