Zach Bryan, Taylor Swift, Morgan Wallen & Sabrina Carpenter Lead the 2024 Billboard Music Awards Nominations

The music industry is abuzz as Zach Bryan, Taylor Swift, Morgan Wallen, and Sabrina Carpenter emerge as the top contenders for the highly anticipated 2024 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs). Set to air on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at 8:00 PM ET/PT on Fox, this year's ceremony will also be streamed on-demand via Paramount+ and available across various platforms including Fire TV Channels.

Hosted by the charismatic Michelle Buteau, the BBMAs return to Fox after a significant hiatus, having previously aired there from its launch in 1990 until 2006. The event promises an exciting mix of original performances, candid artist interviews, and celebrations of the year's standout musical achievements, all broadcasted globally from prominent venues.

This year's BBMAs will honor the most significant artists, albums, songs, producers, and songwriters across a variety of genres. The nominees are determined through year-end performance metrics on the Billboard charts, measuring music consumption from the charts dated October 28, 2023, to October 19, 2024.

Leading the pack, Zach Bryan has made an impressive impact with 18 nominations across 21 categories. Following closely is Taylor Swift, recognized as the most awarded female artist in BBMA history, with 16 nominations. Morgan Wallen, who recently dominated the BBMAs with 11 wins last year, is up for 15 nominations this time around, including a collaborative effort with Post Malone for 'I Had Some Help.' Sabrina Carpenter rounds out the top four with nine nominations.

Other notable artists include Drake and Kendrick Lamar, both earning eight nominations, while first-time BBMA finalists such as Shaboozey and Teddy Swims are among the fresh faces making their mark. In a notable twist, Swift and Drake are tied for the record of most BBMA wins ever, each having taken home 39 awards.

The 2024 Billboard Music Awards will introduce three new categories this year: Top Hard Rock Album, Top Hard Rock Artist, and Top Hard Rock Song. HARDY features prominently in these new categories, alongside acts like Falling in Reverse and Linkin Park.

With a roster of diverse talents spanning genres and generations, the awards will also spotlight top contenders in Latin music, with Bad Bunny aiming for his fifth consecutive win as Top Latin Artist. He will face competition from Fuerza Regida, Junior H, KAROL G, and Peso Pluma.
