A Merry Christmas and Exciting Future Ahead for The MileLion Community

As the festive season envelops us, I want to take a moment to wish a very Merry Christmas to all our loyal readers at The MileLion! Whether you're gathering with family or friends, I hope this holiday finds you in great company—ideally with a luxurious Le Labo amenity kit on hand or maybe a glass or two of Cristal to savor!

This holiday season brings significant reflections as we approach an exciting milestone: April 2025 will mark the 10th anniversary of The MileLion! Can you believe it? A decade of sharing insights, with over 5,500 articles published and a whopping 70 million views—all while sacrificing my once-glorious mane for this journey!

Reflecting on the past year, my family and I embarked on our first overseas adventure together as the MileCub took to the skies for our Bali trip. Since then, we’ve explored Perth, Kuala Lumpur twice, and Bali again, making us travel aficionados… for short-haul flights within our time zone, that is! With a supportive crew and minimal hiccups, we feel ready for anything!

However, 2025 poses a unique challenge. The MileCub will turn two, which means it's time to consider ticket decisions. Should we splurge miles on a Business Class seat for a toddler who may not fully appreciate it, or do we take the family in Economy Class and embrace the chaotic charm of family travel?

Looking ahead to 2025, we’re planning exciting destinations—Melbourne, a new corner of Perth, Iceland, and the breathtaking Banff National Park are on our radar! I can't wait to experience Finnair’s renowned AirLounge Business Class seat. Plus, I’m optimistic about securing award travel on Japan Airlines' new A350-1000!

On the accommodation front, The Standard Singapore is on my itinerary, and I’m considering Banyan Tree Mandai if the rates are reasonable. I also have my eye on Raffles Hotel Sentosa, which is set to open early next year, though I anticipate it may come at a premium. Perhaps a stay at the refreshed Grand Hyatt Singapore will be a more budget-friendly option once its renovations are complete.

Stay tuned, as I'll be sharing my annual Christmas wishlist in the miles and points game—a fun tradition where many of my 2023 wishes surprisingly came to fruition! I’ll also recap the major happenings from The MileLion in 2024 alongside my credit card strategy for the upcoming year.

Lastly, it's not too late to contribute to The MileLion’s Christmas Fundraiser, aiming to raise S$60,000 for Dads for Life and the Centre for Fathering. We’re nearly halfway to our goal, and a heartfelt thank you to all who have generously donated thus far! Remember, contributions of S$50 or more are eligible for 2.5X tax deductions, so let’s give back while we earn those miles!

Cheers to a festive season full of joy and adventure!
