Introduction

As a child of the 90s, the soothing melodies of Air Supply have been an integral part of my life. From belting out "All Out Of Love" during long family road trips to spinning "Now And Forever" on vinyl, their music distinctly formed the soundtrack of my youth. Even in college, my roommate's fascination with "Without You" could’ve easily placed him among the top Air Supply listeners on Spotify — it was a truly unforgettable experience.

The Concert Experience

Finally, on December 13, I had the chance to see the legendary duo, Russell Hitchcock and Graham Russell, perform live at the Resorts World Convention Centre, and it was an experience I wish I had pursued sooner. The energy and charisma these two exude on stage belied their age — both in their mid-70s, yet they commanded the audience with effortless grace. Their vocal prowess was astonishing; each note resonated as perfectly as I had always remembered from their studio recordings. Watching them perform classics like "Without You" and "All Out Of Love" live transformed my nostalgia into a vibrant experience, filling the venue with the sound of a collective sing-along that fans will reminisce about for years to come.

One of the most touching moments of the night was when Russell shared anecdotes about their storied journey as a duo, including the charming tale of their initial meeting during a production of "Jesus Christ Superstar." This no-frills presentation allowed the duo’s rich harmonies to take center stage, ensuring fans relished every moment without succumbing to the fatigue that sometimes accompanies lengthier shows. Each hit resonated with the audience, proving that less can truly be more.

As Air Supply gears up to celebrate their 50th anniversary in 2025, fans can look forward to the prospect of more performances in Singapore. Hitchcock and Russell expressed their excitement for returning, having first graced the stage there in 1982. With whispers of a potential 50th-anniversary tour in the air, as a devoted fan, I’ll be among the first to say “Here I Am” when the tickets go on sale!
