Breaking News: McDonald's Brings Back the Beloved McRib! Here's What You Need to Know!

Get ready, McDonald's enthusiasts! The iconic McRib, a cult classic from the 1980s, is making its much-anticipated return to the UK later this month!

Originally launched in 1981, the McRib features a delectable boneless pork patty shaped like ribs, slathered in rich BBQ sauce, topped with crunchy onions and tangy pickles all nestled in a toasted bun. Although it was taken off the menu in 1985, this fan favorite has made sporadic comebacks, with its last UK appearance occurring in 2015. Since then, loyal fans have been vocal about their desire for its return, bombarding social media with petitions and pleas.

Starting from October 16, McRib lovers can relish this sandwich once again for just £4.49 by itself or £6.19 as part of a medium Extra Value Meal. Thomas O’Neill, the Head of Menu at McDonald's UK, shed light on the excitement surrounding this revival. "It is more than just a sandwich; it’s a phenomenon," he stated. "We have heard our fans loud and clear, and after nearly a decade of anticipation, we are thrilled to bring back this iconic menu item to satisfy the cravings of McRib enthusiasts across the country."

Social media was abuzz as fans spotted cheeky hints about the McRib's return on the McDonald's app, with mysterious messages popping up on screens, such as "McRib_Test.notification_16.10.24 [TEST]". This sparked rampant speculation and excitement among users!

But that's not all! Just last month, McDonald's also reintroduced its famous Grimace Milkshake, celebrating 50 years of the fast-food giant in the UK. This limited-time treat, inspired by the beloved purple character Grimace, was a blueberry-infused creamy delight that was only available for a week.

With around 1,400 McDonald's locations in the UK, employing over 170,000 people, the return of the McRib is sure to bring joy and nostalgia to fans across the country.
