On December 2, the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association revealed that BTS member J-Hope, known offstage as Jung Ho-seok, made a significant donation of 100 million won (approximately $68,200 USD) to assist those grieving and impacted by the disaster. J-Hope expressed his sorrow in a statement, saying, "Upon hearing the news of the accident, I decided to donate to provide some support to the bereaved families. I extend my deepest condolences and sympathies to all those affected by this tragedy."

The organization conveyed their gratitude for J-Hope's generous contribution, assuring that they would ensure his donation reaches the affected families in its entirety. Notably, J-Hope is already a member of the Hope Bridge's Honors Club, having previously donated to flood relief efforts in 2022 and funded the treatment of pediatric patients in 2019. This showcases his ongoing commitment to charitable causes.

Support from Im Si-wan and Others

Adding to the outpouring of support, Im Si-wan, a star from the hit series Squid Game, also made a donation to Hope Bridge, expressing his sorrow for the families who lost loved ones. "I would like to express my deepest condolences to the families who have lost their beloved family members overnight," he said, although the specific amount he donated remains undisclosed.

In addition to these prominent figures, several other South Korean celebrities have joined the cause, including rapper DinDin, comedian Park Na-rae, and Culinary Class Wars contestant Ahn Yu-seong. This group collaborated with various chefs and restaurant owners to offer a remarkable contribution of 1,000 servings of abalone porridge, along with 200 gimbap rolls and 200 sandwiches, providing warm meals to the grieving families.
