Mohamed Salah has officially pledged his allegiance to Liverpool, putting any potential transfer to Saudi Arabia on hold for at least two more years.

Saudi Arabia has been actively pursuing top talent for its Pro League, with Salah being a prime target due to his massive popularity in the Arab Muslim world.

However, with Salah signing a two-year contract extension with Liverpool earlier this month, any plans for a move to the Middle East will have to wait. The attacker, now 32, could still entertain offers once his deal with the Reds expires in 2027.

Saudi Sport Minister Weighs In on Salah’s Rumored Move

During the recent Saudi Arabian F1 Grand Prix, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal clarified that no actual discussions ever took place between Salah and Saudi representatives, despite rampant rumors over the past two years.

He acknowledged Salah's star power, stating, "He’s a superstar. He’s an iconic Arab Muslim. He fits the identity of playing in the Saudi league. But linking him to us has mostly been speculation.”

Could Salah Still Make the Move?

At 32 years old and performing at the peak of his game, it's easy to envision Salah remaining one of football's elite talents by the time his Liverpool contract wraps up.

Saudi Arabia could still emerge as a viable destination for Salah, offering a lucrative final chapter in his career as he approaches 34. With his impressive fitness levels, Salah could continue to shine until well into his late 30s.

One thing is clear: Saudi Arabia isn’t giving up in their quest to lure Salah to the region, as securing his signature would be a monumental victory for football in the area.
