In a wild early morning incident on April 20, 2025, a Tesla made headlines in Hong Kong after evading a police roadblock in Tsim Sha Tsui, leading to a dramatic 14-kilometer chase that ended in a crash.

The thrilling pursuit kicked off around 5 AM when traffic police set up a roadblock at the intersection of Austin Road and Chatham Road South. Defying the authorities, the Tesla sped off, prompting officers to give chase and call for reinforcements.

During the chase, the electric vehicle ran a red light and veered into a dead-end street near Wong Chuk Yeung Street. In a startling turn of events, it briefly crashed into the parking gate of Chun Yeung Estate before attempting to reverse downhill.

Police deployed an unmarked vehicle to corner the Tesla, leading to a head-on collision that resulted in minor injuries to two officers, affecting their knees and necks.
