Local Actor Thomas Ong Puts Massive Lee Kuan Yew Artwork Up for Sale While Downsizing

Are you in the market for a stunning oil painting of Singapore's founding father? Local television star Thomas Ong is parting with a spectacular artwork of the late Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew as he makes a move into a more compact living space.

In a heartfelt Instagram post on November 16, the 55-year-old actor shared the news along with a captivating video showcasing the monumental painting, which measures an impressive 170 cm by 150 cm – towering over most of us! Notably, the artwork is intricately composed entirely of numbers, making it a unique centerpiece that once dominated the corridor of Ong's home.

"Throughout my life, I've always admired the foresight and courage of Singapore’s founding father, who transformed this small piece of land into a haven where countless people can live and thrive in harmony," Ong expressed in his post.

The artwork, which he discovered six years prior during a visit to Thailand, came with its own set of challenges, particularly in its transportation. Ong remarked on the "cumbersome and complicated" air transport process but deemed it worth the effort for such a remarkable piece. "My friends who have seen this artwork have always admired its uniqueness and were intrigued by how the painter managed to convey deep emotions through numbers," he wrote.

The painting is a result of a month of diligent work by the artist, reflecting dedication and passion. Ong shared that whenever he faces difficulties, looking at the artwork serves as a reminder that "Rome wasn't built in a day," encouraging him to appreciate life's challenges and persistence.

Prospective buyers can reach out to Thomas directly through Instagram for inquiries. He has also shared his intention to donate the proceeds from the sale to two primary schools in Cambodia, highlighting his commitment to giving back to the community. Plus, shipping within Singapore will be at no extra cost!

In addition to his artistic endeavors, Thomas is making a return to the screen after a five-year hiatus, featuring in the upcoming Mediacorp series, "I Believe I Can Fly," set to be released next year.

Don’t miss your chance to own a piece of art that embodies the spirit of resilience and dedication synonymous with Singapore’s journey, all while contributing to a noble cause!
