SINGAPORE: MyRepublic Customers Left Without Broadband Service

MyRepublic customers have been left without broadband service for over 17 hours, starting from Monday afternoon (September 30). The telecommunications provider acknowledged the issue on social media, confirming that some users in the north-east region were facing connectivity problems.

In a Facebook update on Monday, MyRepublic stated, “Our network team is currently investigating.” However, as the situation dragged on, frustrations began to boil over. By early Tuesday morning, many customers took to the platform to express their dissatisfaction. One user exclaimed at 7 am, “It is still down!” while another questioned the contractual terms regarding service interruptions, expressing their discontent at around 9:30 am.

Details of the Outage

Reports indicate that the outage began around 3 pm the previous day, and numerous customers voiced concerns that this was not an isolated incident. One frustrated subscriber commented, “Why is MyRepublic constantly having internet issues for the past two years?” Another customer lamented their decision to switch from StarHub, recalling only a few minor disruptions in their long-standing service with them: “Here I am, less than three months in after switching, already facing my third issue.”

Impact on Customer Trust and Reliability

As MyRepublic scrambles to resolve the outage, many users are left wondering about the reliability of the service they have chosen. The company has yet to provide a clear timeline for when affected users can expect a solution, raising questions about customer support and satisfaction.

Digital Age Necessity

In the digital age, where reliable internet access has become a necessity for work, education, and entertainment, this prolonged service disruption could result in increased churn for MyRepublic. Customers are now left wondering if they made the right decision for their internet service provider.

Future Concerns and Competition

Could more outages be looming? MyRepublic must act swiftly to regain the trust of its customers, especially with competition heating up in Singapore’s broadband market.
