Established in 1971 at People Park Complex, this expansive emporium spanned over 20,000 square feet, offering an eclectic range of products from winter clothing to delicacies like bird's nest. It became a one-stop destination for both locals and tourists seeking authentic Chinese goods at affordable prices.

Customer Sentiments

Regular patrons, like Mr. Guo, in his 70s, shared their bittersweet sentiments on the closing day. "I bought a pair of shoes and jade on the last day. Overseas Emporium has a very long history, and I've been coming here to shop for many years. I feel sad that it is closing," he confided to Shin Min Daily News.

Mr. Chai, another loyal customer in his 60s, owned memories dating back to the emporium's two-storey days in the 1970s. "I remember it used to be a two-storey store. I come here for traditional Chinese goods," he reminisced.
