Mr. Yip won the seat with a significant 60.82% of the votes, overcoming a challenge from newcomer Kayla Low of the Progress Singapore Party (PSP).

Before his political career, Mr. Yip was the Group Chief at the Silver Generation Office within the Agency for Integrated Care, and he currently serves as a director at Temasek. His extensive experience positions him uniquely to address the needs of his constituents.
