The co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, Taber MacCallum, highlights the intricate mock-up phase that inspired the launch mechanism aboard the MS Voyager, a remarkable 294-foot ship that acts as an innovative floating spaceport.

Unique Launch System

This unique launch system dispenses a 650-foot-long balloon and capsule using only 200 feet of deck space, all thanks to a sophisticated roller system that unfurls the balloon in a flawless zigzag motion. With just a sprinkle of hydrogen injected at the balloon’s tip, the voyage begins—this minimal lift gas expands as the balloon ascends, and by the time it reaches an astonishing altitude of 100,000 feet, it will be fully inflated.

Pioneering Marine Spaceport

What sets this venture apart is its pioneering status as the first marine spaceport intended for human spaceflights. Space Perspective has partnered with the Federal Aviation Administration and the U.S. Coast Guard to transform the Voyager into a safe and compliant vessel for its unprecedented mission.
