During a recent break before a lucrative 5 PM incentive run, the rider shared his experience of purchasing a simple meal of cai png (one meat and two vegetables) from a local coffee shop for $3.70, accompanied by a drink priced at $1.40. However, just days earlier, he had paid $5.10 for the same meal and $1.80 for the drink at another coffee shop. This inconsistency has prompted him to warn fellow riders about the need for mindful spending as income from deliveries remains relatively stagnant.
"With our earnings from driving not significantly increasing, we must vigilantly monitor our expenses to make every dollar count," he remarked. He has encouraged others in his network to share suggestions for affordable meal spots, noting, “A dollar saved is a dollar earned.” He proposed that organizations like the National Private Hire Vehicles Association (NPHVA) should step in to negotiate better deals or discounts for drivers at dining locations.
