In a shocking incident that has sent ripples through the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), a 44-year-old officer has been charged with voyeurism after allegedly recording a woman without her consent. This disturbing behavior reportedly occurred on five separate occasions, starting on March 26, 2024, in a Housing Board flat.

A Pattern of Intrusion

The accused is said to have targeted the same victim repeatedly, exploiting her privacy as she changed clothes. The harassment continued until April 7, prompting authorities to take action against him.

Innocent Victim's Privacy Violated

Due to a gag order in place to protect the identities of the victim and the accused, specific details remain under wraps. However, the fallout for the officer has been swift. After the charges were brought forth on April 8, the SCDF confirmed his suspension from service, albeit on half-pay.

We expect all our officers to uphold exemplary standards of professionalism, conduct, and discipline at all times." They further emphasized that any officers found guilty of criminal offenses could face tough disciplinary actions, which may include termination from service.
