In a significant move to boost tourism and investment, Indonesia has announced a visa-free entry policy specifically for Singapore permanent residents. According to Silmy Karim, the Director General of Immigration, the policy permits visitors to stay for a maximum of four days. Entry will be facilitated through several ports in the Riau region, strategically chosen to enhance accessibility and support local economies.

This targeted visa exemption stands out from the existing policy that grants visa-free access broadly to all ASEAN member countries. It is specifically designed for Singapore PR holders, of which there are around 545,000, according to Singapore’s statistics department.
