Singapore Government's Initiative

To further ease financial burdens, additional cash assistance of up to $600 was distributed to adult Singaporeans in December 2024. Private Sector Participation

Notably, private sector participation has enhanced the effectiveness of the CDC voucher scheme, with about 600 coffee shop operators now onboard as approved vendors, allowing families to enjoy budget meal options using their vouchers.

In line with the SG60 celebrations, participating merchants and hawkers will offer promotions for customers using their CDC vouchers, enabling families to maximize their purchasing power.

One resident, Victoria Ng, expressed her appreciation for the initiative, noting that the $300 voucher would significantly aid families struggling with rising grocery and food costs. The initiative has also broadened its acceptance to include more community vendors and services, encouraging spending within the neighborhood.
