KUALA TERENGGANU: A heart-wrenching accident claimed the lives of three promising students from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Dungun and left another in critical condition. The incident took place on the evening of Wednesday, October 9, on Jalan Pantai Sura, right near the university campus.

The Dungun Fire and Rescue Station, led by Sharizal Shamsudin, was alerted to the accident at 7:26 PM and promptly dispatched 10 firefighters to the scene. Initial investigations revealed a devastating crash between two motorcycles—a Yamaha LC135 and a Yamaha Y15—and a Honda CR-V driven by a woman.

Eyewitness reports indicate that the car collided with the motorbikes at high speed, striking them from behind as the students were traveling towards the university. The force of the impact was so severe that one motorcycle was dragged nearly 60 meters down the road. Tragically, both the rider and passenger of the Yamaha LC135 died at the scene, while one individual on the Yamaha Y15 suffered serious injuries and the other was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Victims Identified

The three deceased students were identified as Khairil Anwar Jamaludin, Muhammad Akmal Md Tukirin, and Ku Adib Aizad Ku Azmi, while the injured student was named as Muhammad Ammar Danish Mohammad Ridhuan. Medical personnel confirmed all casualties at the site.

The female driver of the Honda, who displayed signs of mental distress following the collision, managed to exit her vehicle, which had careened into a nearby drainage. She was subsequently taken to the police station for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation.
