AI-driven video editing application Captions is stepping up the game for content creators and businesses with the launch of a groundbreaking tool that manages video publishing for websites. Misra also pointed out that many business owners already face overwhelming responsibilities, and this new AI social media manager saves them from having to navigate video production techniques from the ground up.

Looking ahead, Captions plans to broaden its capabilities by integrating additional business pages beyond just websites, enhancing its capacity to create comprehensive content plans.

In a significant move, Captions secured $60 million in Series C funding from prominent investors including Kleiner Perkins, Sequoia Capital, and Andreessen Horowitz, alongside new backers like Adobe Ventures and Jared Leto. The company aims to channel these funds into advancing its AI capabilities.

With a total of $100 million raised over its three-and-a-half-year existence, Misra declared, “We have achieved cash flow neutrality, and our objective with the latest funding is to elevate our AI technology, as we believe the potential in this field is enormous.”

He envisions a future where virtually anything that can be captured on camera can be replicated through AI technology, with improvements in fidelity as time progresses. “Ultimately, our mission is to create an ecosystem where recording and editing videos physically will be unnecessary to produce shareable content.”
