This comprehensive new study dives into the intricate relationship between health expenditures and governance in the BRICS nations—Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa—revealing some eye-opening insights.

Understanding the Data and Methodology

Utilizing extensive quantitative data from 2000 to 2023, researchers examined various facets of governance and health spending. They employed world governance indicators alongside current and private health expenditures sourced from reputable global databases. Cross-sectional dependency and stationarity tests were conducted to ensure robust model selection. By applying advanced econometric methods like Fully Modified OLS (FMOLS) and System GMM, the study avoids common pitfalls such as endogeneity and autocorrelation.
