Despite this impressive growth in advanced industries viewed as vital by the Chinese government, there remains one significant arena where China is lagging: space exploration and satellite technology.

However, progress has been slow, and the nation’s rocket and satellite manufacturers have not managed to compete with the forefront leader in space solutions, SpaceX, founded by Elon Musk.

SpaceX has made groundbreaking achievements with its Starlink project, boasting over 6,000 satellites deployed to provide reliable broadband internet access across the globe, from South America to Africa. By contrast, Chinese enterprises have only managed to launch a couple of dozen satellites into orbit.

In fact, the company is currently in the process of testing its ambitious Starship rocket, which is larger and even more capable of reuse than previous models. Meanwhile, China's space industry predominantly relies on traditional single-use rockets, many of which use outdated technologies, limiting their competitiveness on the international stage.

As the race for supremacy in space intensifies, particularly with increasing interest from private companies and nations alike, observers are left wondering whether China will be able to innovate and catch up to Musk’s groundbreaking achievements.
