Donald Cerrone is making waves in the MMA community as he gears up for a sensational return to the UFC in 2025. The fan-favorite fighter is serious about stepping back into the octagon for at least two more fights, despite stepping away from the sport after a tough streak of defeats.

The Combat Sports Anti-Doping Agency (CSAD), which oversees fighter health and safety standards for the UFC, has confirmed that Cerrone has re-entered the drug-testing pool. This marks a crucial step in his quest for redemption, as he shared the news on The Pacman Jones Show. "I just re-entered the testing pool so I have to be six months clean," Cerrone explained, hinting at a comeback around June or July of 2025. "I’m coming back for two more fights. Just two more. I want to reach 50 fights under the UFC and WEC banners."

Cerrone is keen on concluding his illustrious career with a bang, having promised his wife that he would fight just two more times—regardless of the outcome. He has hinted that he may compete in the middleweight division, showcasing his versatility as an athlete.

It's been a challenging road for Cerrone. He last stepped into the octagon in July 2022, suffering his sixth consecutive loss to Jim Miller, who secured a second-round guillotine choke submission. Cerrone hasn’t celebrated a victory in nearly five years, with his last win dating back to May 2019 against Al Iaquinta at UFC on ESPN+ 9.

UFC President Dana White had a stark reaction to Cerrone's comeback announcement. "I hate it. I hate it," White expressed, showing his concern for Cerrone’s well-being. He continued, "Cerrone shouldn’t think about fighting again. He needs to think about what’s next—I wish he would have been pondering that two years ago. However, we’re here for him. We love Cerrone, and we’ll help him in any way we can. I just don’t want to see him get punched in the face anymore."

As we approach 2025, fans are left wondering if Cerrone can indeed recapture the magic that made him a staple in the UFC. The countdown has begun, and anticipation is building—will "Cowboy" ride off into the sunset after reaching that coveted 50-fight milestone, or will his journey in the octagon take an unexpected turn? Only time will tell.
