This innovative service will be available starting Friday, October 11 at 8:00 a.m. and will continue until Wednesday, October 16 at 12:00 p.m. (noon).

What is a Virtual ER?

Virtual ERs are revolutionizing emergency care, providing 24/7 support to local emergency departments that face challenges with physician coverage. During this period, patients can visit the A.M. Guy Memorial Health Centre just as they would during a traditional ER visit. A healthcare professional will be present on-site, complemented by a physician or nurse practitioner (NP) who will assess patients via video consultation. This model mirrors the operations of a conventional Emergency Room, ensuring that quality care is just a visit away—no matter where you are!

Additional Healthcare Options

But that’s not all! Residents of Central Newfoundland can also access the NL Health Services’ Health Hub, designed for individuals facing non-emergent medical issues, especially those without a family physician. The Health Hub clinics operate Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and weekends from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., though hours may vary depending on physician availability.
