Epic Games Unveils 'Ballistic' Mode

Epic Games is about to revolutionize the Fortnite experience with its latest addition: a new first-person mode that competes with beloved tactical shooters like Counter-Strike and Valorant! This exhilarating new mode, aptly named “Ballistic,” promises to provide gamers with an adrenaline-filled, round-based 5v5 competitive atmosphere where strategy and teamwork reign supreme.

Gameplay Mechanics

According to an official blog post by Epic, Ballistic allows players to engage in intense battles split into two teams. One team's objective is to plant a bomb, known in this mode as the “Rift Point Device,” while the opposing team must defend against this perilous mission. After each round, players will have the chance to purchase gear to help them in the next encounter. The teams will switch sides after six rounds, and the first team to win seven rounds will be crowned champions!

A Legacy of Inspiration

This isn’t the first time Epic has drawn inspiration from other popular games. Their previous modes, such as racing and festivals, took cues from Psyonix’s Rocket League and Harmonix’s Rock Band, respectively. It's fascinating to note that Epic has previously acknowledged how its Impostors mode was influenced by the hit title Among Us. Even Fortnite’s famous battle royale mode originated as a spin-off following the success of PUBG!
