Obituary for Richard 'Rick' Weppler
Richard 'Rick' Keith Weppler, who touched the lives of many, peacefully passed away at the age of 76, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication. He cherished his loving wife, Nancy Eileen Weppler (née Hill), with whom he shared an extraordinary 53 years of marriage. Together, they raised three devoted children: Crystal Brown (Steve), Rob Weppler (Mel), and Amy Clarence (Rob). Rick's heart swells with joy reflected in the lives of his beautiful grandchildren—Madalynn, Joshua, Desirae, Kestrel, Willow, and Aurora—who were the true lights of his life.
Early Life and Family
Born into a close-knit family, Rick was preceded in death by his loving mother, Lorraine Weppler, in 2005, and his father, Wallace 'Wally' Weppler, in 1971. Their guidance helped shape the caring and devoted man he became.
Career and Community Involvement
Rick had a remarkable career spanning several decades as a long-term employee at Nortel. From customer service roles in major cities like Kitchener, Toronto, Vancouver, and Regina, to even working in the stunning Bahamas, his dedication earned him numerous accolades. After retiring from Nortel in 2008, he continued to serve his community as a bus driver for Sharp Bus Lines in Kitchener until 2008.
Passions and Hobbies
Beyond his professional endeavors, Rick was a man of many passions. He found joy in reading, immersing himself in the thrill of hockey games, and indulging in Saturday morning adventures through Star Trek. His playful spirit shone brightly during his high school football days, where he formed lasting memories with friends.
