Security Breach at Windsor Castle: Burglars Steal Vehicles in Stunning Heist!

In a shocking incident that has raised serious concerns about security at Windsor Castle, the residence of King Charles, thieves managed to break into the estate and steal two vehicles. The brazen burglary took place on October 13 but was only reported to the public recently.

Thames Valley Police confirmed the theft in a statement to CNN. According to their report, the burglary was logged around 11:45 p.m. local time. The culprits accessed a farm building on the royal grounds and drove off with a black Izuzu pickup truck and a bright red quad bike. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the police are actively investigating the case.

Witnesses from The Sun revealed that two masked individuals scaled a 1.83-meter fence to gain entry to the Crown Estate. After accessing the vehicles, they used the pickup truck to break through a security gate and escape the scene.

Interestingly, at the time of the theft, King Charles and Queen Camilla were not at Windsor Castle—as King Charles was in Scotland. However, the Prince and Princess of Wales, along with their three children, reside nearby at the Grade II listed Adelaide Cottage and might have been at home during the nighttime burglary.

This incident comes on the heels of a recent surge in security concerns at royal residences. In December 2021, a man armed with a crossbow attempted to break into Windsor Castle with the intention of assassinating the late Queen Elizabeth II, who was present at the time. He was later sentenced to nine years in prison.

Buckingham Palace has famously remained tight-lipped regarding security measures and incidents, declining to comment on the current situation as well.
