As he tuned his acoustic guitar, Springsteen warmed up the crowd with a heartfelt story, emphasizing the significance of the venue. "This is a good building," he remarked. He shared that during his visit to the city, his driver informed him about plans to demolish the Saddledome. "That happens to a lot of good old buildings," he continued, "but they’ve got a lot of soul and feeling in them — and Calgary was on fire tonight!"

Van Zandt, who has been part of the band for nearly fifty years, expressed admiration for the National Music Centre. "This place really puts you on the map. We go to a lot of cities, and they don’t have music museums. This is a wonderful thing for the city as far as its identity."
