Major Road Closures

Planning to drive around the city? Be prepared for significant interruptions. From Thursday, January 1 through Friday, January 5, two essential ramps of the Don Valley Parkway (DVP) will be partially closed overnight from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. The Dundas Street East North ramp leading to the Riverdale pedestrian bridge will be shut down for crucial bridge rehabilitation work, although one northbound left lane will remain accessible.

In addition, the DVP South will see two right lanes closed from Riverdale Park East to Gerrard Street East during the same hours to facilitate bridge repairs, with one southbound left lane open to manage traffic flow.

TTC Service Changes Postponed: Expect Delays!

For those taking public transit, expect changes that will impact your routine. Effective from Sunday, January 5, the Warden Station bus terminal will close for a lengthy three-year renovation to improve accessibility, including the addition of new elevators. Meanwhile, the south commuter parking lot will transform into a temporary bus terminal with four new bus stops along Warden Avenue for riders' convenience.

Several bus routes will be forced to change, directly affecting twelve different routes across the city. Notably, the 124 Sunnybrook route will resume operations between Sunnybrook Hospital and the Roe Loop following the completion of construction at Lawrence West Station, while the 52 Lawrence West service will cease to operate in this area.

In an exciting development, the 37 Islington and 336 Finch West Night routes will begin servicing Woodbine Racetrack, allowing event-goers easier access to the popular destination.

As the Ontario Line construction progresses, the 25A/B Don Mills and 925 Don Mills Express buses will divert, rerouting via O’Connor Drive and Broadview Avenue to serve Broadview Station. This means that while the 25A/B will cover all local stops, the 925 will be limited to Broadview Avenue and Cosburn avenues.

Streetcar Services Face More Changes!

Additionally, prepare for ongoing disruptions in existing streetcar services, including the 501/301 Queen, 509 Harbourfront, 511 Bathurst, and 510/310 Spadina routes, which will continue with the changes established in 2024.

No Subway Closures - For Now!

On a brighter note, there are no planned subway closures this weekend, so commuting via subway should remain relatively unaffected.

GO Transit Remains Steady

For GO Transit users, rejoice! There are no planned changes to GO train services this weekend. Regular GO Bus service will kick back into full operation as of Saturday, January 4, following adjustments to holiday schedules.
