A weekend night turned into a nightmare in Caledon as tragedy struck when a vehicle crashed, leaving one passenger dead and another critically injured.

Emergency services raced to the intersection of Bramalea Road and Boston Mills Road shortly after 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, responding to a single-vehicle collision that would claim a life.

Upon arrival, officials discovered a 21-year-old passenger from Brampton had been pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, another 20-year-old passenger was rushed to a trauma center in Toronto, battling serious, life-threatening injuries.

Charges Filed Against the Driver

The driver, identified as 23-year-old Karanvir Singh from Brampton, was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. It was there that police arrested him after determining that his ability to operate a vehicle had been impaired by alcohol.

Singh now faces a serious list of charges, including impaired operation causing death, impaired operation causing bodily harm, and obstruction of a police officer.
