Tragedy in Niagara Falls: One Woman Dead and Another Critically Injured After Hit-and-Run by Alleged Impaired Driver

In a heartbreaking incident early Saturday morning, a hit-and-run accident in Niagara Falls has left one woman dead and another fighting for her life. Police reported the tragic events unfolded shortly after 12:30 a.m., involving two separate collisions that shocked the local community.

Authorities rushed to Drummond Road near Barker Street, where they discovered two women, aged 44 and 31, lying on the road after being struck by a vehicle. Tragically, the 44-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene due to critical injuries. The younger woman, who sustained serious injuries, was urgently transported to a hospital outside the region for medical care.

As officers were responding to the first collision, they discovered a grey Acura Integra at a nearby location on Culp Street, which had crashed into two parked cars. The driver, identified as 31-year-old John Franco Bonaldo, remained at the wheel, seemingly unaware of the severity of the crimes he was involved in.

An investigation linked Bonaldo to the initial collisions, leading to his arrest. He now faces multiple charges, including failing to stop after the accident resulting in death, failing to stop after causing bodily harm, and operating a vehicle while impaired, which is believed to have contributed to this horrific incident.
