NEW YORK — Just when you thought the spooky season was over, Spirit Halloween is bringing a seasonal twist to the table! The wildly popular Halloween retailer is not just closing its doors after the holiday; instead, it plans to transition some of its locations into festive Christmas stores!

Spirit Halloween will unveil a total of 10 pop-up Christmas stores, mostly situated in the Northeast United States, brimming with holiday delights like gifts, decorations, and inflatable yard displays that will make your home the talk of the neighborhood. Imagine a "life-sized" gingerbread village and an opportunity to snap a photo with Santa himself – sounds like a festive dream come true!

“Our aim is to create an enchanting retail experience that embodies the magic of the holiday season, similar to how we celebrate Halloween,” remarked a spokesperson to CNN, hinting at a merry shopping atmosphere to come.

The flagship store in May's Landing, New Jersey, will kick off this holiday experience on October 18, marking a pioneering step for the brand. Other locations will follow in Marlton and Brick Township within the Philadelphia region shortly after.

This innovative move comes after Spirit Halloween experienced a monumental year, launching a record-breaking 1,525 stores across the U.S. and Canada. Typically, they pop up in vacant storefronts about eight weeks prior to Halloween and close shortly thereafter.

And while Spirit Halloween keeps its sales figures under wraps, the haunted holiday retail sector is thriving, with an expected $11.6 billion to be spent on costumes and decorations this year, according to the National Retail Federation (NRF). But the stakes are even higher for the winter holidays—last year, holiday spending soared to an astonishing $964 billion, marking a nearly 4% increase.
