SpaceX Faces Investigation by FAA

Recent developments have brought SpaceX's ambitious Falcon 9 launch schedule to a sudden halt as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) conducts an investigation into a troubling anomaly that surfaced during the Crew-9 mission late last month.

Crew-9 Mission Overview

The Crew-9 mission, though ultimately successful in delivering the Crew Dragon spacecraft to the International Space Station (ISS) for a series of groundbreaking scientific experiments, faced complications during an essential phase. SpaceX issued a statement explaining: “After today’s successful launch of Crew-9, Falcon 9’s second stage was disposed in the ocean as planned, but experienced an off-nominal deorbit burn. As a result, the second stage safely landed in the ocean, but outside of the targeted area. We will resume launching after we better understand the root cause.”
