Yvonne Lim’s Emotional Return: Singaporean Actress Announces Move Back Home After a Decade in Taiwan!

In a heartfelt announcement on November 21, 2024, Singaporean actress Yvonne Lim revealed her decision to return to Singapore after living in Taiwan for nearly a decade. The 48-year-old star shared her news in an emotional video on her newly launched YouTube channel, aptly titled "I’m Back," where she expressed her mixed feelings about this significant life change.

"I have been thinking about it for a while, and I think it’s time to say it. Our family will finally return to Singapore," Lim stated, visibly moved as she reflected on her time abroad. Since marrying Taiwanese businessman Alex Tien, 45, in 2014, Lim has built a life in Taiwan, raising their two children: son AJ, who turns 10 next month, and daughter Alexa, who will be eight in January.

Lim is no stranger to the limelight, having starred in popular Mediacorp dramas like *Stepping Out* and *Portrait Of Home*. In 2024, she celebrated a career milestone by winning her 10th Top 10 Most Popular Female Artiste award at the Star Awards. As a testament to her lasting impact on the industry, Lim is set to receive the prestigious All-Time Favourite Artiste Award in 2025.

As she recorded the tearful video, she reminisced, saying, “After living in Taiwan for almost 10 years, I have built a new life, made a lot of memories and some lifelong friends. But recently, I began to feel that it is time to go home.” Lim highlighted how the experience in Taiwan has been transformative, helping her discover new interests and learn more about herself.

The video also featured tender moments with friends, including Singaporean singer-actress Kelly Poon and her husband, Taiwanese producer-songwriter Roger Yo, as they shared a meal together. With a heavy heart, Lim expressed her appreciation for the support of friends who have been there for her family throughout their journey. "Actually, I feel a little sad today because, after all, these friends have been with me for many years," she reflected.

Lim's husband, Mr. Tien, echoed her sentiments, thanking those who have contributed to their life in Taiwan. He emphasized the importance of those friendships that have blossomed over the years.

Recognizing the challenges ahead, Lim acknowledged that settling back into Singaporean life will require adjustments, particularly for her children as they transition into new schools. "I know it is the right choice for my family and that it is time to start a new chapter," she affirmed confidently.

This announcement marks not only a significant personal transition for Lim and her family but also a potential new journey in her professional career as she looks forward to reconnecting with the Singapore entertainment scene. What exciting projects might she have in store for her fans upon her return? Stay tuned!
