The ongoing Canada Post strike could spell disaster for small businesses and postal service users across Canada, especially impacting those in remote and rural areas, experts warn. With a nationwide strike entering its second day, the refusal of Canada Post workers, represented by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), to return to work is causing significant disruptions to mail and parcel deliveries.

However, Lee expresses concern that long-term reliance on alternative delivery services could backfire on Canada Post, as customers might prefer those private options and not return once the strike ends. “If people find that alternatives are better in some ways, Canada Post risks losing its customer base permanently,” he warns.
